Found Treasures

Just back from the biggest shopping trip of the year. We filled two trailers and two cars full of new furniture, so stop in and browse all the new stuff I'll be revealing over the next few weeks.

New this week: beautiful aged green trunk. It would make a cute toy chest.

This sturdy wood children's desk will inspire the artist in your little one.

Also in celery green, we have a new metal medicine cabinet with chocolate interior. It has a drawer and shelves for extra storage so it's great for organization but also makes a unique conversation piece.

The relaxed simplicity of the cottage lifestyle is captured in these shabby tables. The best thing about accent tables is that they look great in any spot in your house.

The 4th is almost here!

Can you believe it's almost the 4th of July? Thankfully we've got lots of red, white, and blue decorations that will add a festive touch to any celebration.

If you're planning on having a BBQ or picnic, we've got festive glasses and plates perfect for entertaining.

Trays always come in for carefree entertaining this time of year.

New this week: this rolling cart recently got a fresh paint job and the end result looks retro yet stylish.

New tablescape in the back room. Mint green and yellow make such a fresh combination.

If you're interested in starting a silver collection, we have all kinds of beautiful mix and match patterns that have great aesthetic appeal on a table or mantel.

We've got a set of four bamboo chairs with cane seats that would fit perfectly in a country kitchen or patio.

Unfortuantely by the time this blog goes live, this piece will already be out the door. I'm posting it to show the decoupage job my mom did on the inside of this trunk. If you look closely, you can see vintage sheet music lining the inside walls.

A little bit of this, a little bit of that

New this week... if you don't see this vintage cart in the store, either someone has bought it or it's at my house. It's industrial and old and gorgeous and it's going to make the most unique coffee table for somebody.

Looking for a set of adorable chairs? We've got them, and they're upholstered in a beautiful pink and green floral fabric.

We've had a lot of cute metal chairscome in and out of the store this spring, but this set is the most unique we've seen.

Got a chair with a broken seat and not sure what to do with it? We placed a metal planter inside the seat of the chair for a unique garden decoration. Plus, this green paint will really pop in any garden.

Old thermoses double beautifully as unique vases. We really focus on uncovering multi-functional features in the store.

And speaking of muti-functional pieces, here's a garden insect made from antique silverware (the wings are made from knives).

One more multi-functional piece for the week: here's a bench made from a vintage door that would look great on a front porch or entryway.

This table technically should have been pictured with the beachy pieces from last week's blog. It's one-of-a-kind and it's the perfect shabby piece for a weekend lake house or any house that wants a touch of whimsy.

Summer in the city...of Powell

New this week: It's summer and we're finally able to decorate with our beach-inspired tablescape!

As I've said before, everything looks so clean and organic in glass, especially sand and seashells in this beautiful footed glass jar.

No beach inspired table would be complete without these adorable seashell picks.

A simple yet chic beach-inspired place setting.

Instead of using candleholders, pour sand in a glass hurricane to hold your favorite tapered candles for a fresh, new look.

These distressed wood buoys are the perfect decorative accent for summer.

If you're looking for the perfect seating for a smaller outdoor space, we have the perfect patio seating. And it's perfect for outdoors because the chairs of covered in waterproof oilcloth.

Now that it's getting hot out, there's nothing better than waking up with breakfast in your air-conditioned bedroom. And if you're serving breakfast in bed, you need this shabby rattan server.

The last post of the week, we recently gave this bench a spring makeover by repaining it a beautiful sage green for summer. The bench seat lifts up for extra storage and it would be extremely functional in an entry way.

Looking for a table?

New this week: Tables galore! We have the cutest enamel top table with lots of drawers for storage and a built in cutting board. This is really a one-of-a-kind piece perfect for a retro kitchen.

This sweet cottage table would fit perfectly beside a couch or chair and the bottom shelf would hold magazines or other clutter nicely.

This is a great side table with beautiful detail and I love the contrast of painted legs and the natural finish on the wood top.

These cute table won't be around long. It seems like everyone wants white furniture in spring/summer.

Here's a different style of pedestal table that's very shabby-chic.

Another sweet little side table with an extra shelf and drawer to hide clutter.

And right now, check out Capital-Style.com, the newest women's magazine in Central Ohio for a tour of downtown Historic Powell and photos of all the shops including Paris Flea Market. Just click on the "Shopping Guide" link on the homepage.

Flea Market Love

This past weekend we visited a local flea market and picked up all sorts of fantastic pieces for the store. Like the sign says, we did good! Here are some of our favorite things from the trip.

Stained glass windows of all shapes and sizes.

Gorgeous potting table with shutters & stained glass built in to the back.

We came across the cutest glider (too bad we ran out of room in our vehicle or this would have come back with us).

Look at all these columns! Visit the store to see the new columns that came home with us.

New this year...we saw a lot of outdoor animals made from salvaged tin. Don't you love these flying pigs.

As my boyfriend can tell you, I love glass, especially random glass fixtures. I've been collecting railroad insulators for some time now and this weekend, I found all sorts of new colors and shapes to add to my collection.

Overheard at the flea market... Oh, that's at the corner of Chicken Coop and Bacon Boulevard.

Aunt Debbie in a hand shaped chair. And no, there wasn't room to bring this back either (thankfully).

A Beautiful Day for a Fair

Thank you to everyone who came out for the first Powell Street Fair of the season. The weather was beautiful and there were deals galore to be had all over Powell. If you didn't make it, mark your calendar because there are two more Street Fairs this summer: Sunday, July 26th and Sunday, September 13th. 9A-5P. Rain or Shine. The following are some shots I took throughout the day of stuff that caught my eye.

Favorite things of the day...the lady selling hanging baskets on Powell Road. Not only were the prices fantastic, but she had the most beautiful arrangements I've seen this year.

I picked up this basket for my house. I just planted my window boxes yesterday with greens and purples so this will blend perfectly.

We loved this box full of mini glass bottles (5 for $8...not too shabby).

Not the typical set-up you find at a Street Market. We found all sorts of cute products in this booth!

The North Market's annual Apron Gala is coming up on Saturday, May 16th, and this was definately the place to find aprons. At the Apron Gala you can graze on delectable appetizers, main tastes and desserts all artfully prepared by the North Market venders.

How cute is this. It's a metal tray that doubles as a memo board, and they were selling vintage button magnets as well. I love finding new ways to use everyday items.

Speaking of new ways to use everyday items, check out these purses made from recycled plastic bags. Reduce, reuse, recycle!

I just love these gourds. They would look so organic and stunning in a glass compote bowl on the center of a dining table.

I totally need this huge ice cooler for my next party. This cooler + my porch on July 4th for the Doo Dah parade in the Short North = party perfection.
